This is a family-run and fully accessible hotel in a stunning rural location. It is the perfect place to relax. Away from the hustle and bustle of the Costas, this is a great base to explore the fascinating area.

The hotel is completely barrier-free: all bedrooms and communal areas are wheelchair friendly. There are no steps and level or ramped access to all areas. Las Piedras also offers a heated swimming pool with handrails all the way around and a hoist which can be used with a chair or a sling. You can also access the Jacuzzi with hoist.

The lounge area has comfortable sofas, a TV, DVD player with a large selection of DVD’s, books and board games. You will have a wood-burning stove for those colder winter nights. Las Piedras has its own restaurant and bar with an excellent reputation, serving Mediterranean and Spanish inspired dishes making the most of the fantastic local produce. They offer various meal packages (Bed & Breakfast, Half Board and Full Board).


The hotel is in the heart of The Axarquia, just an hour away from Malaga Airport. It is quieter and less developed than the Costa del Sol. It is located in the Alcaucin valley and has stunning views of the countryside and the breath-taking Maroma Mountain opposite. The villages of Puente Don Manuel and Alcaucin are 8 kilometres away. They have bars, shops & restaurants. Alcaucin is a typical Andalusian white village. The coast is just a 25-minute drive away. Malaga airport is an hour’s drive. They can provide excursions and airport transfers by accessible vehicle.

Beds & Baths

All 5 bedrooms are spacious and wheelchair accessible, with either level or ramped access and wide doors. Each has its own large, en-suite wet-room style bathroom, with roll-in shower, wheeled shower chair and plenty of grab rails around the WC and shower. We can make the beds as singles or as super king-size doubles for you. Electric profiling beds are available for hire.

The rooms are decorated in a Spanish traditional style with all modern comforts: air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, hair-dryer, kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. Two of the rooms are family rooms and sleep up to 4 people; it has 2 beds and a bunk bed.

Food & Drinks

Dining is a highlight of a stay at this family-run hotel. Delicious freshly prepared Mediterranean food making the most of the fantastic local produce. The set menu is different every night and features many local dishes. There is also a snack & bar menu to choose from. Special diets, vegetarians, allergies, blended meals all catered for. Meals are taken either in the lovely Andalucian style restaurant or on the vine-covered terrace with mountain views.

There is a fully stocked bar featuring Spanish wines and finos, San Miguel on tap, and a selection of spirits and soft drinks. They also have a poolside “help yourself” honesty bar fridge.

Sports & Relaxation

You can enjoy the pool or Jacuzzi, both accessible with hoist. The lounge are has comfortable sofas, a TV, DVD player with a large selection of DVD’s, books and board games. There are no other bars or restaurants within walking distance, no nightclubs nearby, nothing. You are more likely to find yourself sitting out on one of the terraces enjoying the pleasant evenings and surroundings, perhaps with a glass of Rioja or Sangria, watching the moon come up over the mountains or just chatting with other guests.

The hotel is specifically designed with the needs of physically disabled people in mind. To that end the entire hotel and grounds are barrier free and accessible. There is considerable attention to detail throughout. Clothing rails, hooks and switches are lowered, and power points are raised. There are extra-wide doors and there is extra clearance under tables and sinks for wheelchairs and clearance under all beds for hoists. The rooms are large with ample turning circles and level or graduated ramp access to all areas.

Located on a hillside, there is one bedroom on the ground floor, the 4 other bedrooms are on the first floor, and access is via a long path with graduated ramp. They have a range of mobility aids for use or hire and can provide personal care / assistance by prior arrangement. In the grounds they have a specially designed heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi complete with grab-rails and hoist. They also have their own accessible vehicle and provide airport transfers & excursions.
